Best Hotels & Apartments in Flaine, France│Telegraph Travel
The resort village of Flaine is divided into two main sectors: Flaine Forum and Flaine Foret. The first is located around a large area free of traffic, and both provide easy access to the lifts to the slopes. Two funiculars, running all day and all night, connect the two sectors, and there are several restaurants and bars in both areas. The original Bauhaus-style blocks, built mainly on skis and on skis, designed in the 1960s, form the core of the holiday village.
The vast majority of housing both in Flaine and in the villages of Le Carro, Samoens, Morillon and Sixt-Ferre-et-Cheval at the bottom of the Massif Grande are apartments. Some of them are very smart with pools, saunas and hot tubs. However, Hameau de Flaine is an attractive collection of Scandinavian-style wooden chalets, 2 km from the original Flaine, and in between the Montsoleil apartments were built in chalet style.
There are few hotels, but there are some attractive ones. For example, Lapiaz, a restored mountain hut on a trail accessible only by snowmobile, a short walk from the Flaine Forum. Rockypop Flaine, a four-star hotel with multiple restaurants and a Nuxe spa with pool in the Flaine Forum, opened in the 2021/22 season.
