I tried to find a cheap hotel room in London for a summer staycation – the cheapest areas

The results

While I did manage to find rooms under £600 in these boroughs, it’s still important to think a little bit more about location before booking.

London’s a huge city and the biggest borough (Bromley) spans more than 150 km. Before you book, check how close the hotel is to transport links.

As long as there’s no strike, London’s bus, tube and overground network is a reliable way to get around but it can come at a price.

Although prices are capped, tourists could rack up a hefty fee if they’re travelling to the city centre from Zone 3 and beyond each day.
