One tourist wrote on TripAdvisor: “A little too cramped. The sandy beach is nice and clean, but you have to go through a parking lot to access it.”
Another said: “Beautiful but no Maldives. The beach is ok, but not exactly pristine. I think the use of Maldives is wrong.
“Too crowded, the sand not so white and the sea not so clear blue.”
Despite the complaints, with return flights on offer for under £40, Italy’s Maldives could be a great alternative to island paradise.
