Flying Coach has a whole new meaning.
Coach’s newest store is set up inside a converted 1981 Boeing 747, an iconic aircraft coined the “Queen of the Skies.”
The luxury handbag brand started in New York in 1941 and has since taken off, now being sold all around the world — even as far as Malaysia, where the Coach Airways Boeing 747 is situated.
The plane — more than 231 feet long with a wingspan of topping 195 feet — is parked at the Freeport A’Famosa Outlet and began boarding shoppers earlier this month.
The “Queen of the Skies” took two years to convert into a fully decked-out store.
Guests are given a pass resembling a plane ticket upon entering the shop via an air bridge to emulate an immersive air travel experience.
Stepping on board Coach Airways, shoppers can take photos along the Coach-inspired panel and explore the cockpit plus passenger and lounge cabins with Coach-themed airplane seats — each fitted with its own Coach pillow — and visitors can even order coffee from the Coach cafe.
While customers sip, they can shop from the exclusive Coach Airways Collection, including airline-themed items and accessories like passport cases, carry-on bags and luggage tags.
The renowned Boeing 747 made history as the largest civilian aircraft in the world during the1960s and is “reminiscent of the golden age of air travel,” the Freeport A’Famosa Outlet said in a press release.
