Tourists were angered after they struggled to find a space in a hotel car park due to “hooded youths” roaming there.
Guests claimed that there was no parking available in the main car park and that the overcrowded lot was somewhere where “hooded youth” congregated.
They also said they had to wait an hour for a space to open up behind the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry, Edinburgh, and it was a strain on their car. Report Edinburgh live.
In a post on TripAdvisor, guests wrote: “There is no parking available and ‘overflow parking’ is on an undisclosed lot where hooded youths congregate!
“I was forced to wait an hour before I finally found a place behind the hotel where I could squeeze into the car.”
The hotel, which spans the Firth of Forth and three bridges that stretch into Fife, responded and apologized to customers but said CCTV was in place in the overflow car park.
Also they said staff members will be able to escort them on site.
Dakota says the hotel was at full capacity during their stay and the on-site restaurant was extremely busy.

“I am disappointed to read that you have given us a 2* rating due to the hotel’s parking facilities.
“We offer complimentary onsite parking to guests for the duration of their stay, however there is limited availability in the car park due to the hotel being at full capacity and the restaurant being extremely busy.
“We have an overflow car park covered by CCTV which the team were able to escort you too but I’m glad you were able to find a place in the onsite car park.

Overall, the Dakota Hotel ranks highly on TripAdvisor with an average score of 4.5 out of five which is considered “excellent”.
